UWTSD KARTING

UWTSD Karting is a group created and led by students studying within the Swansea Campus.

This is a society for individuals who enjoy all areas of motorsport and socialising in an environment where motorsport is the centre of attention. From Formula 1 watch parties to various karting sessions around south Wales, there is something for everyone in this society whether you're wanting to enhance your driving skills in a competitive nature or just want to enjoy the company of like-minded motorsport fans. 

This year we have a new addition to the society, we are hosting private formula 1 watch parties free to all members. This will occur for every race of the remainder of the 2023 season and continuing through to 2024 from the season opener at the beginning of March.

Over previous years we have competed in the British University Karting Championship (BUKC) and already have a team of experienced drivers getting ready to qualify for next year's championship. We are striving to grow our presence within the BUKC so if racing in a competitive environment interests you then this is the perfect place to start. If you have an questions or you would like to join the team be sure to get in contact with one of our committee members where we can guide you on the next steps to getting involved.

We are aware not everyone wants to race competitively and/or cannot afford the associated costs with this which is why in 2023 the committee has been working hard to introduce monthly karting sessions at varying locations. Primarily these sessions will be held on an outdoor track but through the winter with poor weather, there will be a series of indoor sessions at Teamsport Cardiff. These will be inclusive sessions for anybody at a first come first serve bases with limited numbers, members will get priority with tickets at a reduced cost compared to non-members. Even if you did want to participate as a non-member the cost will still be significantly lower than what you would pay to do such events privately, making these sessions very desirable amongst students at UWTSD.

The main goals of this society is to provide everyone with access to competitive and high-level racing as well as constructive karting sessions where students can improve their race craft and simply have fun! In addition to other fantastic benefits all provided at the lowest cost possible.

The group is open to anyone who wishes to take part, whether that be socially or competitively, we want you!
